Dear Panelists,
I would like to express my gratitude towards you for accepting to be the judges of my project. I know that it can be very time consuming but I am glad you have decided to help me fulfill my graduating requirements for Lindsay High School. I am excited to be able to share my amazing high school experience and my future plans. Lindsay High School has taught me many things and has helped me develop my dreams. I am full of enthusiasm to show the Lindsay community and my assigned judges what I have learned and what I will do with what I have learned, in order to give back to my community.
I am an exemplary student that loves to learn and is confident in her abilities to work and better herself. My experiences and family have shaped me into the type of person that is highly motivated and knows what she wants. I know that I want to make my family, my heritage and my community proud. I also have a set goal that is to use my degree or the job I obtain after college to give back to the community that prepared me and watched me grow. My love for helping others and being involved in my education is shown in my activities. I am a member of the AVID program, National Spanish Honors Society, Future Farmers of America, California Scholarship Federation, Medical Club and M.E.Ch.A. Not only am I involved in clubs but I am also a second year swimmer for the Lindsay High School Varsity team. I balance my time between school and my community services as well as my church duties. I am an every year volunteer for Vacation Bible School and the Pathfinders Club. In my church, I am the secretary for the youth ministry. I feel that my work around the community and involvement in school has incremented my love for this town. For that reason, I want to give back to it by going away to college and coming back to practice my major in benefit of my community. I want to be a translator or a psychologist therefore, I want to major in psychology or in Spanish language.
Throughout my whole senior project I wrote a lot about my religious affiliation therefore I chose the topic of creationism. The reason why I chose this topic is because it really interests me. I feel that I can talk profoundly about the subject with facts, reaserch and what I already know. I also chose this topic because mostly all other topics that came to my mind are overused. I hope the readers of my project learn something new from my essays weather or not they believe in creationism.
To the panelists that will be judging and participating in my senior project I hope that my project is engaging. I am very grateful for the time that you are imputing into the analyzing of my project. I will see you January 23, 2013.
Sincerely,
Vanessa Alcantar
