Gods Seven Day Process in Creating the World: Step By Step and Day by Day
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”, this quote has been the most famous quote in the bible for centuries, and with great reason (TheCreation Story). It is basically the beginning of life, of earth and everything we have come to know. It is the
summary of the whole creation story. This quote is the beginning of a process so deep that we still don’t completely understand.
Creationism is the creating of earth and all things in it by an all-mighty God. For centuries the theory of creationism has been taught and sponsored by religion, but unfortunately has not been able to be proven. In order to prove the theory of creationism we must break it down into steps and analyze the process; the seven days that God took to complete his masterpiece.
The process of creationism begins with Gods six days of work and one day of resting. That first day he came down to earth and saw that it was formless and obscure. Therefore he decided to begin his creation by separating light form darkness and thus called it “night” and “day”. Then there was light and there was darkness coinciding with the day we have come to know that has two main parts, day and night (The Old Testament).
According to the book of Genesis 1: 6-8; in the beginning, the earth was a huge molecule of water. Therefore, on the second day God separated water from water making the top half “heaven” and the middle became the atmosphere and the sky where eventually stars
would be formed.
On the third day God created the land and then gathered the waters on earth from the second day and with that formed a huge ocean. The quote "Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear; and it was so. And God called the
dry land Earth, and the gathering together of the waters He called Seas,”proves that God labeled both seas and land and that he had a plan that would lead to his ultimate creation, humanity. Not only did God create land, the ground that we step in today and the beautiful ocean that we visit every summer, he also created all vegetation such as fruit trees, vegetable plants, and grass that same day. Although the whole process of creationism seams to concur with what we know, it is a bit confusing on how or why God created vegetation before he created sun. That is where there is a division between Creationist and Christians. Christians believe that the seven days of creation are really a
figurative amount of time. Whereas, creationists believe that the process of creationism took seven twenty-four hour days because plants couldn’t have survived more than that amount of time without sunlight (The Old Testament).
On the fourth day God created the stars, the moon and the sun. The purpose of the sun, stars and moon was that these would watch over earth and protect it with their light. The stars were especially meant to govern and demonstrate the difference between day and night as well as be signs to indicate different days, years and seasons.
On the fifth day of God’s creation he created the animals that soar the skies and the marine animals that venture the seas. He created all creatures that fly and all creatures that swim. He then blessed them so that they would multiply and fill both the oceans and the skies
(The Old Testament).
On the sixth day God created animals to roam the land and fill it. He made two of each animal so that they would reproduce and pro-create, each animal according to its kind. He also gave life to the first man on earth so that man could govern all of his creation. He made
this man out of dirt and formed him with his own hands. He said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeliness”, and he did, he blew a breath of life into this dirt human and made him beautiful and perfect, God named him Adam. In the bible it is said that God told Adam that he was made out of dirt because from dirt he had come and when he died to dirt he would return. This once again accords with life today when a person dies they are either turned into ash or their buried bodies begin to become dirt that eventually go back into the earth. Also God did make man perfect. He made humans perfect in the sense of how our bodies function, the way we think; the way our hands are formed and how we have everything we need to be able to continue to function properly points at perfection and design. Without a single finger the tasks we can perform minimize (The Old Testament).
When God had created a pair of each kind of animal he noticed that Adam needed company therefore, he created a perfect female out of a rib he removed from Adam. He named her Eve and made her to be Adams’ partner to rule over their creators’ masterpiece.
This process of six days was a lot of work I’m sure not to much for the all-mighty God but on the seventh day he rested and sanctified it (The Creation Story).
The process of creation has very different forms of being interpreted. Many things can be doubted but the order and the steps God took to create the universe cannot be questioned because they are written in the oldest book of all history which is the Bible.
