Busy Busy Me
I barely made the deadline for my autobiographical narrative. I’ve had so many things to do that I have not been dedicating enough time to my senior projects as I should or my pre-calculus class. I think the school does a great job having a whole week of GSIW every once in a while but I wish they would do it more often.
This week for example, we had GSIW schedule I caught up in a lot of things especially senior project because I signed up for that class. For the sake of graduation and all the seniors I feel they need to have GSIW two times a month, at least. Next time we have it I will be signing up for pre-calculus because I need all the help I can get. I feel that my weakest subject is that one. I wish I had extra help in that class but all the help is after school and many people attend therefore I can’t always get the one on one help I need. GSIW would give us all the extra help we need.
I haven’t had time for my homework this week because I started volunteering at the Pathfinders Club again. I volunteered last year and I had the time of my life helping kids, being a role model and teaching them about God. Last year, I accompanied them to hikes, camps, and even the 25th annual camporee in Riverside, which lasted almost a whole week. It was a huge camporee filled with recreational activities and sermons for the children. It was very fun but very time consuming it took a lot of work for me to catch up with homework that week but I do love helping in the club. This year is the last year I could help them with Pathfinders because I will be attending college the fall of next year. For that reason, I couldn’t say no to helping out this year. I am hoping that I can handle both stresses and work well in both areas just as I did last year.
Other than that responsibility, I also have a new duty in the church. I am a member of The Seventh Day Adventist Church. Every year the members of the church nominate people that they think will do a good job in various different tasks around the church for example, who invites different pastors to come preach, who plans church events, who plans meetings etc. This year they are making an afternoon service every Saturday just for teenagers. I was nominated to plan that event once a month and since I try not to say “No” to things that I believe are for God, I couldn’t reject the offer. Since last week I am the new assistant event planner for the youth section of the church. Of course this is just on Saturdays but I do have to organize events and use some of my homework time.
I’m really proud that I am involved not only in school but in the community and the church although it is a lot of work especially for a seventeen year old, I am extremely confident that I can keep up with my homework and my senior project as well as my church duties.
